Who We Are
We are a combination fire department comprised of 1 Career Fire Chief, 2 Career Firefighters, approximately 10-15 volunteer; all of which are comprised of 1 Assistant Chief, 2-3 Captains, 1-2 Lieutenants, 7-8 Senior and Probationary Firefighters operating out of one fire station with nine fire apparatus that are ready to respond to any emergency at any given time.
We have automatic mutual aid agreements with both the Spencer Fire Department and Forest Park Fire Department for assistance. Often times the Choctaw Fire Department will render mutual aid to the City of Nicoma Park.
We try to keep our community safe by promoting fire prevention campaigns throughout the year with programs like smoke detectors, extinguisher training and Fire Prevention Week at the Nicoma Park Elementary.
We respond to approximately 600 calls for service per year. About 70% of those are medical emergencies. Our average firefighter puts in 20 hrs per month in training and other duties. We actively recruit for Volunteer Firefighters. We strive to make our community a safe and secure place for the visitors and residents of the City of Nicoma Park.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us regarding any questions or concerns you may have.
